TMS Ringsted (short for Team Midtsjælland Ringsted ) is a Danish handball club from Ringsted , whose men's team competes in the highest Danish league.

history

The club was created on December 15, 1997 when the handball departments of Ringsted IF and Vetterslev-Høm GF merged. In 1999 the women's team rose to the 1st division - the second highest Danish division. A year later, the men's team was promoted to the 1st division. In 2003 the men rose to the Håndboldligaen - the highest Danish league - on. After seven seasons in the Håndboldligaen, however, TMS had to move into the 1st division. Two years later, the men's team managed to return to the top class. In the 2013/14 season, Ringsted finished last in the Håndboldligaen and was relegated directly to the 1st division. In 2018 Ringsted managed to return to the Håndboldligaen, from which the club was relegated a year later. Ringsted returned to the Håndboldligaen for the 2020/21 season.
