Claus Møller Jakobsen (born September 24, 1976 in Ringkøbing , Denmark ) is a former Danish handball player . He ran for the Danish men's national handball team .

Career

Claus Møller Jakobsen received his first professional contract in 1997 with Skjern Håndbold , where he won the Danish championship and the Danish cup in 1999. In 2000 he was hired abroad for BM Altea in the Spanish ASOBAL league . Here the backcourt player remained largely unsuccessful except for reaching the final of the EHF Cup 2004, so that in 2004 he moved to the top club BM Ciudad Real . With the Castilians he won the Copa ASOBAL in 2005 and 2006 , the Spanish Supercup in 2005 and the EHF Champions League and the European Club Championship in 2006 . When his club signed the Slovenian Uroš Zorman in 2006, Møller Jakobsen saw no great prospects at his club and went to league competitor Ademar León . In the very first season he and his team reached the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup , but lost to the German HSV Hamburg there . In 2008 he signed a contract with league rivals SDC San Antonio, where Jakobsen was planned as the successor to Ivano Balić . A year later he returned to Skjern Håndbold. He ended his career there in 2014. In the first half of the 2016/17 season, Møller Jakobsen helped out again with the Danish second division team TMS Ringsted .

Claus Møller Jakobsen played 121 international matches for the Danish men's national handball team . He won bronze at the European Championships in 2002, 2004 and 2006 , as well as at the 2007 World Cup in Germany.
