Anders Zachariassen (born September 4, 1991 in Sønderborg ) is a Danish handball player .

Career

The 1.92 m tall circle runner started playing handball at Ulkebøl I&UF and then worked in the youth department of HF Sønderborg. Since January 2010, Zachariassen was under contract with Sønderjysk Elitesport , which was then still in the second-highest Danish league. In 2011 he was promoted to the Håndboldligaen with SønderjyskE . In the 2013/14 season he was the best runner in the All-Star team. For the 2014/15 season he switched to the German Bundesliga club SG Flensburg-Handewitt as the successor to Michael V. Knudsen , where he signed a three-year contract. In 2015 he won the DHB Cup with SG and the German championship in 2018 and 2019. For the 2020/21 season he will move to the Danish first division club GOG Håndbold .

Zachariassen made his debut for the Danish U21 national team against Portugal on March 11, 2011. At the U21 World Cup in Greece in 2011, he won the silver medal with the Danish selection. He became world champion at the 2019 World Cup.
