Franz Semper (born July 5, 1997 in Borna ) is a German handball player who plays for SG Flensburg-Handewitt .

Career

society

He played for SC DHfK Leipzig from 2013. The right backcourt player had a second game right for the Dessau-Roßlauer HV . In 2014 he won the German championship with the B-youth. In the two following years he also won the German championship with the A-youth. Since 2015 he has been part of the men's squad of the SC DHfK Leipzig. He was nominated for the All-Star Game 2018. In August 2018, Semper had extended its contract, which was valid until 2019, by one year ahead of schedule. Semper played 183 games for Leipzig in which he scored 547 goals, with a rate of around 49.4%. He has been running for SG Flensburg-Handewitt since the 2020/21 season .

National team

At the U21 World Cup in Brazil in 2015 , Semper and his team won bronze, scoring 11 goals in 9 games in this tournament. A year later at the U20 European Championships in Denmark in 2016, he won the silver medal. At the U21 World Cup in Algeria in 2017 , he reached 4th place with the DHB team and scored 36 goals in 9 games.

At the European Handball Championship in 2018 he was appointed to the 28 squad by national coach Christian Prokop. His first invitation to the DHB squad took place on October 12, 2018 for the qualifying international matches for the European Championship 2020 in October. He played his first international match for the senior national team on October 24, 2018 against Israel in Wetzlar, in which he scored four goals. He has played 13 games so far in which he scored 28 goals. In the national team he wears the number 32 on his jersey.
