Lasse Svan (born August 31, 1983 in Klippinge , Stevns municipality , Denmark ; born Lasse Svan Hansen ) is a Danish handball player . He is 1.85 m tall.

Lasse Svan, who plays for SG Flensburg-Handewitt (shirt number 11) and plays for the Danish national team, is mostly used as the right winger. Besides, he studied teaching at the Seminary of Skårup.

Lasse Svan started playing handball in the next larger town, Store Heddinge near Sierslev HK. Later he went - together with his teammate Peter Svensson - to the Danish first division club GOG Svendborg TGI, where he also made his debut in the Danish first division in 2002. With the men from the island of Funen , he won the Danish championship in 2004 and 2007 and the Danish Cup in 2002, 2003 and 2005. In 2008 he switched to SG Flensburg-Handewitt in exchange for Kasper Nielsen . With Flensburg he won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2012 , the EHF Champions League in 2014 , the DHB Cup in 2015 and the German championship in 2018 and 2019.

Lasse Svan has played 214 caps for Denmark so far. At the European Championship in 2008 , which his country won, he was only part of the extended squad. In 2012 he finally managed to win the European Championship . In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London . At the 2013 World Cup in Spain and the 2014 European Championship in his own country, he lost in the final. He won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and was appointed to the All-Star team. He became world champion at the 2019 World Cup.

Lasse Svan is a former Zeeland billiards champion .
