Gøran Søgard Johannessen (born April 26, 1994 in Stavanger ) is a Norwegian handball player . He is under contract with the German club SG Flensburg-Handewitt .

Career

Gøran Johannessen played for Viking HK in his hometown from 2010 . 2016 1.93m moved back player to Danish first division GOG Håndbold with which he in the season 2016/17 at the EHF Cup participated. Johannessen has been under contract with Bundesliga club SG Flensburg-Handewitt since the 2018/19 season . He won the German championship in 2019 with SG Flensburg-Handewitt.

Gøran Johannessen made his debut in the Norwegian national handball team on January 17, 2015 . With Norway he took part in the 2017 World Cup in France , where the team won the silver medal, and in the 2018 European Championship in Croatia . Furthermore, he became vice world champion in 2019 .
