Kasper Nielsen (born June 9, 1975 in Hillerød , Denmark ) is a Danish handball player . He is 1.92 m tall and weighs 102 kg.
Nielsen, who currently plays for the Danish first division club Ribe-Esbjerg HH and has played for the Danish national team for a long time , is used in the backcourt left position. He is considered a defense specialist .
Kasper Nielsen started playing handball with the Helsinge team in 1985 . In 1995 he joined Helsingør IF before moving on to GOG Gudme Svendsborg in 1997 . Here he won the Danish championship in 1998, 2000 and 2004 and was three times cup winner . In the 2001/02 season he already played for SG Flensburg-Handewitt ; from 2005 he ran for three more years for the Fördestädter. With the SG he was in the Champions League final in 2007 , but lost to THW Kiel there . In 2008 Nielsen returned to the GOG Svendsborg TGI. After GOG withdrew from game operations for financial reasons during the 2009/10 season, he joined the second division team Faaborg HK in February 2010. Before the 2010/11 season, Nielsen signed a contract with Bjerringbro-Silkeborg. From August to December 2014, the Füchse Berlin signed him to replace the long-term injured Denis Špoljarić . In January 2015, Bundesliga club TBV Lemgo signed him for the rest of the season. After a few months without a club, he joined the Danish first division club Ribe-Esbjerg HH on September 21, 2015 as a replacement for the injured player Jonas Tidemann. After Nielsen ended his career after the 2015/16 season, he was reactivated by Danish second division club Ajax København in November 2016 . He ended his career at the end of the 2016/17 season. In September 2017 he made another comeback for Ribe-Esbjerg HH.
Kasper Nielsen played 191 international matches for the Danish national team . At the European Championships in Norway in 2008 and at the European Championships in Serbia in 2012 , he was European champion with the Danish team . In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London .
