Stevns Municipality is a Danish municipality in the Sjælland region , which was created in the course of the latest municipal reform in 2007 from the merger of the municipalities of Stevns in Storstrøms Amt and Vallø in Roskilde Amt . It is located south of Copenhagen on the main Danish island of Zealand and covers most of the Stevns peninsula . The administrative headquarters are in Store Heddinge .

Stevns municipality has a total population of 22,805 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020)
