The Ringsted Municipality is a Danish town on Zealand . It extends over 294.60 km² and has 34,852 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The seat of the administration is in Ringsted .
Ringsted Municipality was formed in the course of the administrative reform of 1970 and was retained in full during the new administrative reform of 2007. The municipality moved from Vestsjællands Amt to the new Sjælland region .
