Køge Kommune is a Danish municipality on the island of Zealand . It was created on January 1, 2007 in the course of the 2007 municipal reform through the merger of the "old" Køge municipality with the previous Skovbo municipality , both in the Roskilde office .

Køge Municipality has a total population of 60,979 inhabitants (January 1, 2020) and an area of 256.50 km². It is part of the Sjælland region . The seat of the administration is in Køge .
