Herfølge Kirke

Herfølge Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 she belonged to Harde Bjæverskov Herred in what was then Præstø Amt , then to Køge Kommune in Roskilde Amt , which was merged into the "new" Køge Municipality in the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of the municipal reform .

The parish has 12,291 inhabitants, most of them among the 37,754 inhabitants of Køge (as of January 1, 2020). Herfølge Kirke church is in the parish.

Neighboring municipalities are Køge Sogn , Boholte Sogn and Lellinge Sogn in the north, Lidemark Sogn in the west, Sædder Sogn in the southwest , and Endeslev Sogn , Himlingøje Sogn , Valløby Sogn and Strøby Sogn in the southeastern Stevns municipality .
