Lejre Kommune is a Danish municipality on the island of Zealand . It was created on January 1, 2007 in the course of local government reform by uniting the "old" Lejre municipality (88.17 km²) with the previous municipalities of Bramsnæs (79.88 km²) and Hvalsø (72.02 km²), all of which previously became the Roskilde Office proper.
Lejre Kommune has a total population of 27,996 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) and an area of 238.90 km². It is part of the Sjælland region . The seat of the administration is in Kirke Hvalsø .
