Until December 2006, Lejre Kommune was a Danish municipality in what was then Roskilde Amt on the island of Zealand . Since January 2007 it has been part of the new Lejre municipality together with the municipalities of Bramsnæs and Hvalsø .

Lejre Kommune was newly formed as part of the administrative reform of 1970 and comprised the following Sogn :

• Allerslev Sogn
• Gevninge Sogn
• Glim Sogn
• Herslev Sogn
• Kornerup Sogn
• Osted Sogn
• Rorup Sogn
