structure
Guldborgsund Municipality (area: 900.60 km²) covers the area of six "old" municipalities of Storstrøms Amt :
Parish communities and localities in the municipality
The following parish communities ( Danish : Sogn ) and localities with more than 200 inhabitants ( byområder (German: "urban areas") as defined by the statistical office ) are located in the municipality ; Population on January 1st, 2020, with a registered population of zero, the place had more than 200 inhabitants in the past:
- ↑ a b c d e f Brarup Sogn , Kippinge Sogn , Nørre Vedby Sogn , Stadager Sogn and Vålse Sogn were merged to form Nordvestfalster Sogn on January 1, 2020 .
- ↑ The former church district "Gedser Kirkedistrikt", which was in the area of Gedesby Sogn, became independent on October 1, 2010 as Gedser Sogn. Since the boundaries of the new Sogn have not yet been published, the arrow can only point to the approximate location of the Sogn.
- ↑ a b Frejlev and Radsted had fewer than 200 inhabitants for the first time in 2013.
- ↑ a b c d The village of Guldborg extends over the parishes of Nordvestfalster Sogn and Majbølle Sogn .
Insofar as Sogne were split up or merged, this only relates to ecclesiastical matters. In its capacity as Matrikelsogne , i.e. as land register districts of the cadastral authority Geodatastyrelsen , such changes have not had any effect since the abolition of the Harden structure in 1970.
history
traffic
The internationally important rail and road connection Hamburg - Copenhagen runs through the municipality as part of the Vogelfluglinie . At the end of 2007 the last section of the Vogelfluglinie ( European route 47 at Guldborgsund tunnel) will become a motorway. Bridges cross the sound at Guldborg (old route) and Nykøbing Falster . The road connection to the island of Zealand and thus to Copenhagen is provided by the Farø bridges in the north of Falster (European routes 47 and 55).
A ferry port is located in Gedser on the southern tip of Falster (ferry connection to Rostock ).
Town twinning
The municipality of Guldborgsund lists four twin cities :
- Schleswig-Holstein : Eutin
- Finland : Iisalmi
- Latvia : Liepāja since 1993
- Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania : Rostock since 2014
Since 1992 Nykøbing Falster has also had a partnership with Lublin ( Poland ); a continuation by Guldborgsund has not been proven.
