Gedser Sogn (until October 1, 2010: Gedser Kirkedistrikt ( German: church district ) in Gedesby Sogn ) is a parish community ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Falster in southern Denmark . Until October 1, 2010 it was only a church district in Gedesby Sogn. When all church districts in Denmark were dissolved on this date, it became an independent Sogn.

history
Until 1970 Gedesby Sogn belonged to Harde Falsters Sønder Herred in what was then Maribo Amt , then to Sydfalster Kommune in Storstrøms Amt , which was merged into Guldborgsund Municipality in the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of the municipal reform .
