Gyrstinge Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Alsted Herred in what was then Sorø Amt , then to Ringsted Kommune in Vestsjællands Amt , which became part of the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of local government reform .

827 inhabitants live in the parish, 343 of them in the parish (as of January 1, 2020). In the parish is the church "Gyrstinge Kirke".

Neighboring municipalities are Allindemagle Sogn in the northeast and Bringstrup Sogn in the southeast , and Fjenneslev Sogn in the neighboring Sorø municipality in the south , Bjernede Sogn in the west and Kirke Flinterup Sogn in the northwest .
