Ringsted Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the town of Ringsted on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Ringsted Herred in what was then Sorø Amt , then to Ringsted Kommune in Vestsjællands Amt , which became part of the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of local government reform .

Of the 22,898 inhabitants of Ringsted, 17,697 live in the parish of the same name (as of January 1, 2020).

The churches "Klostermarkskirken" and " Sankt Bendts Kirke " are located in the parish .

Ringsted Sogn is separated into two parts by Benløse Sogn . Neighboring municipalities are also Haraldsted Sogn in the north, Kværkeby Sogn and Nordrupøster Sogn in the east, Farendløse Sogn in the south-east, Sneslev Sogn in the south, Vetterslev Sogn in the south-west and Høm Sogn , Sigersted Sogn and Bringstrup Sogn in the west .
