Havnelev Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 she belonged to Harde Stevns Herred in what was then Præstø Amt , then to Stevns Municipality in Storstrøms Amt , which was merged into the "new" Stevns Municipality in the Sjælland region on January 1, 2007 as part of the municipal reform .

1416 inhabitants live in the parish (as of January 1, 2020), mostly residents of the port town of Rødvig , which also extends to the area of Lille Heddinge Sogn . The church "Havnelev Kirke" is located in the parish. The church village Havnelev itself has fewer than 200 inhabitants.

Neighboring municipalities are Lyderslev Sogn in the west, Frøslev Sogn in the north and Lille Heddinge Sogn in the east .
