TM Tønder Håndbold is a handball community from the Danish municipality of Tondern . The first men's team currently belongs to the second-class 1st division .
history
The syndicate was created in 1998 through the merger of the clubs Tønder SF and Møgeltønder U&IF and was initially called HF Vest Sønderjylland . Between 2004 and 2006 they were part of the Sønderjysk Elitesport . After relegation from the 1st division West in 2001, they returned in 2006 as an independent gaming community back to the second highest Danish league, which they have been a member of since then - with the exception of a third division season 2011/12. 2008/09 the TM first took part in the promotion round to Håndboldligaen , but failed there with six defeats in six games. In 2015/16 they prevailed in the relegation against Nordsjælland Håndbold and thus rose to the top class for the first time. In 2018 Tønder was relegated to the 1st division.
In 2014, the club took part in the round of 16 of the Danish National Cup for the first time and was defeated there by the reigning Danish champions KIF Kolding-Copenhagen with 17:34.
