The Latvian men's national handball team represents the Republic of Latvia in international games and tournaments in men's handball .
From the first participation in a qualification in 1993, the selection could not qualify for a major tournament. Her best result was reaching the play-offs for the 2005 World Cup against Spain and the 2008 European Championship against the Czech Republic .
In 2001 the Latvian team won the EHF Challenge Trophy with a 31:22 final victory over neighboring Estonia .
Latvia will take part in a European Championship for the first time in 2020 .
