EHF Challenge Cup 2000/01
In the EHF Challenge Cup 2000/01 , 19 handball club teams took part, which had qualified for the competition in their home countries in the previous season. It was the 1st edition of the Challenge Cup, which replaced the EHF City Cup . The last winner was TV Großwallstadt . The cup games began on November 11, 2000 and the second final took place on April 28, 2001. In the final, the Yugoslav representative RK Jugović Kać prevailed against the Swiss club Pfadi Winterthur .

The competition started with three games in round 3. The winners moved into round 4, in which other, higher-rated teams entered. All rounds including the final were carried out in a knockout system with a return leg. The winner of the final was the EHF Challenge Cup winner of the 2000/01 season.

The first leg took place on April 21, 2001 in Winterthur and the second leg on April 28 in Kać. In the premiere season, RK Jugović Kać was the first winner of the EHF Challenge Cup.
