EHF Challenge Cup 2009/10

In the EHF Challenge Cup 2009/10 , 33 handball club teams took part, which had qualified for the competition in their home countries in the previous season. It was the 10th edition of the Challenge Cup. The defending champion was the Romanian club UCM Sport Resita . The cup games began on October 9, 2009, the second final took place on May 29, 2010. In the final, Sporting Lisbon from Portugal prevailed against the Polish representative MMTS Kwidzyn.

mode

The competition started in round 2 with a group phase with 4 groups with 4 teams in which everyone played against everyone in a simple round . The first two of the group moved into round 3, in which 10 other, higher-ranking teams got on. From this round, including the final, the game was played in a knockout system with a return leg. The 9 winners of round 3 moved into round 4, in which 7 other teams entered. The winners of round 4 advanced to the quarter-finals. The winner of the final was the EHF Challenge Cup winner of the 2009/10 season.

All games were played from October 9, 2009 to October 11, 2009, group A in Sisak , Croatia, group B in Luhansk , Ukraine, group C in Odorheiu Secuiesc , Romania and group D in Plav , Montenegro.
