Lucy Cohu

Lucy Anne Cohu (born October 2, 1968 in Wiltshire , England ) is a British actress .

Life

Cohu was educated at the Central School of Speech and Drama . After completing her training, she performed in theater and made her debut at the Royal Exchange Theater in Manchester in a production of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice . She had her first television role in 1991 as Jayne Bazeley in the British television series Casualty , until 1997 she appeared in this role in a total of six episodes of the series. Guest roles followed, including in Agatha Christie's Poirot, and recurring roles in the series Soldier Soldier and The Bill, among others . She made her feature film debut in 2001 in Robert Altman's Gosford Park . For her portrayal of Princess Margaret in the television film The Queen's Sister , she was nominated for best actress for a BAFTA Award and an Emmy in 2006. In 2008 she received the Emmy for her performance in the television drama Forgiven . In 2009 she performed at the Duke of York's Theater alongside John Simm , Ian Hart and Kerry Fox in Speaking in Tongues . She played the daughter of Captain Jack Harkness in the third season of the Torchwood series .

Cohu is a single mother of one son.
