Kaspar Deutschenbaur

Kaspar Deutschenbaur , also Caspar Deutschebaur (born November 1, 1864 in Schwabmünchen , † November 23, 1950 in Dießen am Ammersee ) was a German politician . He was Lord Mayor of Augsburg from 1919 to 1929 and was a member of the Bavarian People's Party .

Deutschebaur was the son of the baker and hotelier Kaspar Deutschenbaur. He attended high school near St. Stephan and then studied law in Munich . During his studies he became a member of the Academic Choral Society in Munich . In 1892 he became a legally qualified police commissioner in Augsburg and in 1897 a professional councilor. He took part in the First World War as a reserve officer. After the war, he was elected mayor of Augsburg in June 1919 as a BVP candidate. In December 1924 he was re-elected.

After the end of his term of office as Lord Mayor, he was made honorary citizenship of Augsburg on December 30, 1929 . In the Augsburg district of Pfersee , Deutschebaurstrasse was named after him.
