Anton Barth

Anton Barth (born February 27, 1787 in Eichstätt ; † April 23, 1848 in Kaufbeuren ) was mayor of Augsburg from 1822 to 1834 .

Life

Barth was initially secretary of the foundation and municipal administration of the Second Upper Danube District in Eichstätt. From 1817 he worked as an assessor for the district government in Augsburg until he was successfully elected mayor in 1821. Barth was introduced to his office in January 1822 and retired in January 1834 after political and private disagreements. His sons Marquard and Karl were later politicians of Swabian liberalism.
