Theme Park World ( Sim Theme Park in the US and Brazil) is a published 1999 economic simulation - computer game company Bullfrog Productions (from the theme park series ). The aim of the game is to create and manage an amusement park .

Game flow

There are two game modes: action and simulation .

The differences are that the simulation mode offers somewhat more detailed settings (e.g. research is carried out automatically in action mode) and in action mode you start with a small park with a few attractions, while in simulation mode you empty one Park finds.

Golden tickets / keys

Another difference between the simulation mode and the action mode are the golden tickets and golden keys , which you can use to unlock new attractions and parks. You can get golden tickets, for example, if you build a high roller coaster, attract a certain number of visitors to the park (100/200 ...) or carry out other extraordinary activities.

With golden admission tickets you can buy special attractions and with three golden admission tickets you get a golden key with which you can unlock additional parks.

Parks

There are four different theme parks to choose from:

  • Forgotten World (1 golden key required)
  • Halloween (1 golden key required)
  • Wonderland (3 golden keys required)
  • Space Zone (5 golden keys required)

Each park has a corresponding environment and also the appearance e.g. B. the attractions and clowns depends on the theme of the park.

Windows 2000 / XP fix

Since Theme Park World is programmed for Windows 95/98 and there is no longer any support due to the resolution of Bullfrog, it does not work easily under Windows 2000 / XP. However, there is an unofficial patch from Adam Hearn that fixes a font error that occurs after a game crash under Windows 2000 / XP. Although this fix was developed for Windows 2000 / XP, it can also be used on Windows Vista / 7.
