Al Murray
Alastair James Hay Murray (born May 10, 1968 in Stewkley , Buckinghamshire , Great Britain ) is a British comedian , actor , screenwriter , TV and radio presenter .
Murray, in his role as The Pub Landlord , announced his candidacy for the constituency of South Thanet in the 2015 UK general election ; he competed against Nigel Farage . In the election, Murray received 318 votes (0.6 percent of the votes cast) and was sixth of eleven candidates. The winner was Conservative Party candidate Craig Mackinlay.
He belongs to the Scottish Murray clan and is a grandson of Sir Ralph Hay Murray and Mauricette, Lady Murray (born Countess of Kuenburg ).
