Paterson Joseph

Paterson Joseph (born June 22, 1964 in London , England , United Kingdom ) is a British actor . He played leading roles in the series Law & Order: UK , Jekyll , The Leftovers and Safe House .

Life

Paterson Joseph was born in London to his parents from St. Lucia . In the first years of his acting career he was mainly active in the theater and was awarded for his performances in plays such as King Lear and Lost Love Labor . Due to his acting performances in various British television series, he has meanwhile been traded as the first dark-skinned actor for the lead role in the series Doctor Who , which ultimately went to Matt Smith .

He became known to a wider circle for his role as "Holy Wayne" Gilchrest in the HBO series The Leftovers .

Paterson Joseph is married to a French woman and lives with her and a son in France. Before his career he worked as a cook.
