Timeless ( German Zeitlos ) is an American television series that premiered on April 1, 2016 on NBC .
In November 2016, the original order was increased from 13 to 16 episodes. In May 2017, NBC announced the discontinuation of the series, but only three days later a second season with 10 episodes was announced and aired on March 11, 2018. Finally, a two-part series finale was ordered, which aired in the US on December 20, 2018.

After an experimental time machine is stolen from criminal ex- NSA agent Garcia Flynn, history professor Lucy Preston, soldier Wyatt Logan and technician Rufus Carlin are given the task of following him with an early prototype of the machine and thwarting his dangerous plans. They quickly discover that Flynn intends to profoundly change the history of the United States .

Lawsuit against series inventor and studio
Shortly before the start of broadcasting, it became known that series creator Eric Kripke, Sony Pictures Entertainment and NBCUniversal had been sued by the Spanish group Onza Entertainment , as the series had astonishing parallels to the Spanish series El Ministerio del Tiempo (The Ministry of Time). a. the leading cast also consists of one woman and two men with a similar mission. The first season of the series was released on DVD on March 29, 2018, without being broadcast on German-language television. Netflix started the German premiere on May 1, 2018.
