Robert Duncan (composer)
Robert Duncan (* 1973 in Ontario , Canada ) is a Canadian composer .
Life
Robert Duncan grew up in Toronto. He comes from a family that has been making music for generations. His great-grandfather composed for silent films in England and other relatives worked with composers such as Ralph Vaughan Williams and Benjamin Britten . As a child he attended the Claude Watson School for the Arts . He learned the organ and played the trumpet . He later graduated from York University with a bachelor's degree in music . He then moved to Los Angeles , where he worked as an intern for the two composers John Welsman and Lou Natale .
He made his debut as a film composer in 1997 for the Canadian television production Dead Love . He gained greater fame through his work on the television series Buffy - The Vampire Slayer , The Unit - A Question of Honor and Lie to Me . He is currently composing for the TV series Castle and since 2012 for Missing and Last Restort . For his work on the two television series Castle and Missing , he was nominated once for an Emmy in 2009 and 2012 .
Duncan had a cameo in the 14th episode of the fourth season of Castle . He played a jazz club pianist in The Blue Butterfly .
