Tru Calling - Destiny reloaded! (Original title: Tru Calling ) is an American television series produced by 20th Century Fox Television and broadcast on Fox television. The first season was broadcast regularly in the television year 2003-2004 and extended for a second season. After the shooting of the sixth episode of the second season, the series was discontinued, the episodes were put back by FOX and only used as a gap filler in spring 2005, with the sixth and last episode "'Twas the Night Before Christmas ... Again" never on FOX was shown, but only on the SciFi-Channel and only on January 21, 2008.

Tru Davies ( Eliza Dushku ) is a medical student who makes her living as a morgue helper . She could lead a normal life, but she has a gift that changes her life. It gives her the power to save innocent people from death by reliving the fateful day of their death. In this way she has the opportunity to change what is happening and to save people from death. At her side are her boss Davis and her brother Harrison, who know her gift and whom she can always confide in. But in later episodes her Trus opponent Jack causes certain problems. He has the same gift as Tru, but does not try to use it for good, but rather to prevent Tru from saving. He thinks she is disrupting the plans of fate. He is supported by Tru's father, who apparently earlier - like Jack - was his wife's opponent until her death. By the early end of the series it turns out that he killed his wife in the exercise of his "duty". She had the same gift as Tru. The exhausting fight against fate and Jack also has disadvantages, Tru's private life is neglected and there is little time for friends. Lindsay, her best friend, marries at the end of season 1 and leaves the series, her boyfriend Luc is killed by Jack in exchange for her brother, whom she saved that day, her last boyfriend Jenssen studies medicine with her.
