Zach Galifianakis
Zacharius Knight Galifianakis (born October 1, 1969 in Wilkesboro , North Carolina as Zacharius Knight Galifianakis ) is an American comedian and film actor . He is known for his unconventional stand-up style. He was best known to an international audience through the Golden Globe- winning comedy Hangover .
life and career
Galifianakis grew up in Wilkesboro, a small town in North Carolina, as the son of a Greek and an American. He attended Wilkes Central High School and later North Carolina State University .
His acting and comedian career began in the mid-1990s, when Galifianakis appeared in the sitcom Boston Common . After various film appearances and shows on Comedy Central , he has moderated the fake interview series Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis (translated: Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis ) since 2008 , in which he satirical interviews with celebrities from film and television (under others Barack Obama and Charlize Theron ) leads. A year later he took on the lead role with Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms in the hit comedy Hangover , which gave him an international breakthrough.
Galifianakis has been a regular member of the comedy video website Funny Or Die , which was founded by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay in 2007 and, among other things, realizes comedy productions with young talent.
He has been married to Quinn Lundberg since August 2012. She is the co-founder and vice president of the Growing Voices charity. He has two sons with her who were born in 2013 and 2016.
Zach Galifianakis caused a stir during a panel discussion on Real Time with Bill Maher about the approval of marijuana in California (Proposition 19). There he suddenly pulled a joint out of his jacket pocket and smoked it during the live broadcast. Bill Maher later denied that the "joint" actually contained marijuana.
