Bradley Charles Cooper (born  January 5, 1975 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor , director , screenwriter and singer . Cooper became known for his role in the film Hangover , which was followed by two sequels due to its success. From 2013 to 2015, he was nominated for best leading or supporting actor at the Oscars for three years in a row.

His directorial debut, A Star Is Born , for which he also worked as a screenwriter, producer and actor, was nominated for five Golden Globes in 2019 , of which the film won one.
