Matthew Quick (born October 23, 1973 in Oaklyn (New Jersey) , United States ) is an American author .

Life

Quick grew up in Oaklyn ( New Jersey ) and attended in Collingswood (New Jersey), the High School . At the La Salle University in Philadelphia in Pennsylvania he put a Bachelor exams into English literature and then went to Goddard College in Plainfield ( Vermont ). There he graduated with a Master of Fine Art (MFA).

Quick became a teacher at Haddonfield , New Jersey. To write his first novel, he left the school service and moved to the city of his school days. After that, he lived with his wife, pianist and author Alicia Bessette , in Holden , Massachusetts , before the couple on the Outer Banks on the coast of the Atlantic in North Carolina settled.

Quick's first novel, The Silver Linings Playbook , was filmed in the US in 2012. The script was written by Quick, who received two awards from critical associations for it. The book was published in German in 2013.
