Jennifer Shrader Lawrence (born August 15, 1990 in Louisville , Kentucky ) is an American actress . It won three Golden Globe Awards and an Oscar in 2013 .
Private life
Jennifer Lawrence grew up in the city of her birth, Louisville. At the age of 14, she moved to New York with parents Karen and Gary Lawrence and their two older brothers, Blaine and Ben, to become an actress. However, she did not complete any acting training. Lawrence dropped out of school at the age of 14 with no degree or GPA .
From 2011 to 2014 she dated British actor Nicholas Hoult , whom she met while filming X-Men: First Choice . The couple split in 2014.
In August 2014, nude photos of Lawrence appeared on the Internet, which an unknown person had previously downloaded from Apple's online service iCloud ( hacker attack on private photos of celebrities in 2014 ).
In 2015, Lawrence wrote a post in Lena Dunham's online feminist newsletter Lenny Letter , criticizing and questioning why women are paid less in Hollywood.
From summer to autumn 2017, Lawrence was in a relationship with the film director Darren Aronofsky . The two met while filming the film Mother! know.
She has been in a relationship with the art dealer Cooke Maroney since 2018. They married in October 2019.
Career
She made her debut in a minor supporting role in the television drama Company Town (2006). At the side of Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger , she starred in Guillermo Arriaga's feature film debut On Burning Earth in 2008 . In the same year she was awarded the Marcello Mastroianni Prize in the category “Best Young Acting Performance” at the Venice International Film Festival . From 2007 to 2009, she played Lauren Pearson in three seasons of the sitcom The Bill Engvall Show . For her role in the drama The Poker House (2008) at the side of Selma Blair , she was honored at the Los Angeles Film Festival with an award in the category "Outstanding Performance". In the thriller The Devil You Know (2013, shot in 2005), she slipped into the role of Zoe Hughes, who was played in older years by Rosamund Pike .
Lawrence was also seen in several guest roles in television series. She played the role of Abby Bradford in 2007 and 2008 in Cold Case - No Victim Is Ever Forgotten and appeared in two episodes of the series Medium - Nothing Remains Hidden in 2007 and 2008 . According to her own statements, she should have applied for the roles of Bella Swan and Rosalie Hale in Twilight-Bis (s) at Dawn in 2007 .
Lawrence made his breakthrough in 2010 with the lead role in Debra Granik's independent film Winter’s Bone . In 2014, Lawrence was ranked # 12 on Forbes Magazine's list of the World's Most Powerful Celebrities . The magazine described her as "the most powerful actress in Hollywood".
