Dior and Me (Original title: Dior et moi ) is a French documentary directed by Frédéric Tcheng from 2014. The premiere of the film was on April 17, 2014 at the Tribeca Film Festival . The cinema release in Germany was on June 25, 2015.

In 2012, Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons became the artistic director of Dior . He is supposed to create the new “Haute Couture” collection in just eight weeks. On the fine line between the fear of failure and a good ending, the film leads through all departments of the house. At the end there is a spectacular fashion show .

criticism

The film service described the film as “a lavish documentary about Christian Dior and his no less charismatic successor, which is a great pleasure, especially for fashion enthusiasts”. Fashion is described as “a process based on the division of labor”, whereby the film makes it clear “how closely the creation of a collection is dramaturgically and visually related to classic narrative cinema”.

Awards

The film won the Documentary Special Jury Award at the Seattle International Film Festival . Dior and I also received nominations at film festivals in Abu Dhabi , Melbourne and Tribeca .
