Palm Springs International Film Festival
The Palm Springs International Film Festival is an annual January film festival in Palm Springs , California . It is one of the major film festivals in North America . It took place for the first time in 1989 and has around 135,000 visitors a year. International feature films and documentaries will be shown.
Various award ceremonies are held as part of the festival organized by the Palm Springs International Film Society. Cinematic achievements of the previous year will be honored with prizes like the Desert Palm Achievement Award at a gala at the beginning of the festival . In addition, jury and audience prizes will be awarded at the end of the festival.
