A film festival is a periodic cultural and economic event at which various current film productions are shown, discussed and usually evaluated by a jury or the audience and awarded film prizes at a specific location , which does not necessarily include a financial contribution.
History and Development

The first film festival took place in Venice in 1932 . Moscow followed in 1935 with the Moscow International Film Festival .

Osian's Cinefan was founded in 1999 in the capital New Delhi as a festival for Asian and Arabic cinema with the Indian auction house Osian's as the main sponsor.
The Bring Your Own Film Festival has been taking place in Puri since February 2004 . The Bengaluru International Film Festival has been taking place since 2006 - mostly every two years.
In Hyderabad also found the International Children's Film Festival Hyderabad instead.
