A Star Is Born is a music film by Bradley Cooper that celebrated its world premiere on August 31, 2018 as part of the Venice Film Festival and was released in German cinemas on October 3, 2018. The third remake of A Star Rises from 1937 is the directorial debut of the actor, who also took on the role of a musician in the film. In the female lead, Lady Gaga plays a young musician who becomes a star overnight.

At the 2019 Academy Awards , A Star Is Born was nominated in eight categories, including Best Picture, Lady Gaga as Best Actress and Bradley Cooper as Best Actor. In the Oscar category Best Song , the song Shallow received the award.
