Michael J. Harney (* in Bronx , New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

Life

Michael J. Harney studied at The Neighborhood Playhouse School Of The Theater . He gained notoriety through the recurring role of Mike Roberts on the television series NYPD Blue . There he was seen from 1993 to 1999 in a total of twelve episodes. After numerous other appearances in various television series, he was a guest in twelve episodes of the series Deadwood from 2005 to 2006 . After a long story arc in Vanished , an appearance in the film Ocean's 13 followed in 2007 . In 2010 he appeared in seven of the 13 episodes of Persons Unknown . For the next two years he played the role of Mitch Ouellette in 13 episodes of Weeds . Harney has had a leading role in the drama series Orange Is the New Black since 2013 .
