Walker, Texas Ranger is an American television series that was produced from 1993 to 2001. The action series includes a pilot season and eight other seasons with a total of 202 episodes and a television film.
content
The series is about the Texas ranger Cordell Walker, who, together with his partner James Trivette, ensures law and order on the streets of Dallas . In their endeavor to bring down every criminal, the rangers fall back on their martial arts experience and sound shooting training. They get help from the assistant district attorney Alex Cahill and the former Texas ranger CD Parker, in whose saloon almost every adventure ends.
main characters
Walker is the hero of the series. As the child of an Indian and a white man, he had to witness the murder of his parents by racists and grew up with his uncle Ray on an Indian reservation. It was not easy for him there as a mixed breed and only made friends for life through late adaptation. Through the Marines and the long stay in Asia, he became the fighter he represents today.
Trivette is Walker's service partner. Growing up in Baltimore, he first made a career as a football star, but had to give up after one season due to an injury and became a police officer and later a Texas ranger. In the opening episode Black Spider , Walker's original colleague Robert Mobley dies in an exchange of fire and Trivette takes his place. In the following years of the different seasons Trivette learns more and more martial arts from Walker and his army friend Trent Malloy.
Alex Cahill is the Dallas Assistant Attorney and everyone involved is on friendly terms. The personal affection between Walker and her, which is crowned with the wedding at the end of season 7, had to grow slowly and required many tests and even more patience from both sides. In order to be able to work together with Walker and Trivette on a long-term basis, Alex turned down several opportunities and career offers that were particularly attractive for them. In the film Walker, Texas Ranger: Baptism of Fire , it is ultimately up to the viewer to decide whether Alex is dead or just collapsed after being hit by a bullet.
CD Parker is a former Texas ranger and police officer who mentors both Walker and Trivette and knows almost everything about the two of them. After his retirement, he set up a country and western eatery with live music, which became the preferred meeting point for everyone involved. Occasionally he still intervenes in the events himself, because despite his years he has not forgotten too much, although of course his age sometimes has a negative impact. However, his criminalistic memory still works perfectly. In the fourth episode of the ninth season, he dies of natural causes on a fishing trip, but it was later discovered that he was poisoned.

Relation to other programs
A crossover to the series Martial Law - The Karate Cop was produced. First Chuck Norris made a guest appearance there in the episode Schützenhilfe in 2000. Subsequently, lead actor Sammo Hung was seen in the same year in the episode The Great Blast of Walker, Texas Ranger .
The Sons of Thunder series is an offshoot of Walker, Texas Ranger . It was discontinued in 1999 after showing six episodes.
For a long time, incoherent excerpts from Walker, Texas Ranger were shown regularly on the American television show Late Night with Conan O'Brien for the amusement of the audience. There was also the Walker Texas Ranger Lever , a lever on which Conan O'Brien could pull to record excerpts with involuntarily funny moments from the series.
Movie
In 2005, the television film Walker, Texas Ranger: Baptism of Fire was produced, which continues the series. Directed by Aaron Norris , the main characters of the series stayed in their roles.
New edition
In the fall of 2019, Rideback , CBS Television Studios and Industry Entertainment announced that the series would be rebooted on The CW in 2020 . The cast consists of Jared Padalecki as Cordell Walker, Keegan Allen as Liam Walker, Mitch Pileggi as Bonham Walker and Lindsey Morgan as Mickie.

- the film baptism of fire has already been shown on Pro 7. The story begins right after the last episode 202 of season 9 or season 8.
