Burt Young
Burt Young (* thirtieth April 1940 as Richard Morea in New York City , New York ) is an American actor .
Life
Young was born in Queens , New York, to Italian-Americans Josephine and Michael De Louise. Young took acting classes at The Actors Studio with Lee Strasberg . His type and appearance put the stocky actor with the thinning hair on the role of the "loser guy from the lower class", Young often played the rough, edgy Italian-American from the working class. From the early 1970s he was in great demand in this role and played striking supporting characters alongside big stars in numerous film classics, including his most famous role as Rocky's brother-in-law Paulie in the film Rocky (1976), where he - in a typical for him Role - as a frustrated slaughterhouse worker appeared. In this hit film, Young was seen alongside Sylvester Stallone . Burt Young was nominated for an Oscar for his acting performance .
Young appeared in all five sequels of the Rocky saga, most recently in 2006. He played a betrayed husband in Chinatown (1974) - alongside Jack Nicholson - and a truck driver in the action film Convoy (1978, alongside Kris Kristofferson , Ali MacGraw and Ernest Borgnine ) . In the epic gangster film Once Upon a Time in America he starred alongside Robert De Niro in 1984 and in Mickey Blue Eyes in 1999 alongside Hugh Grant , James Caan and Jeanne Tripplehorn . There were also numerous guest roles in television series , including Die Sopranos , Miami Vice , Columbo , Matrjoschka and Law & Order .
Young is widowed and has a daughter (* 1969), Anne Morea. He lives in Port Washington, New York .
