action

Mike Locken and George Hansen work for the private security company COMTEG, which works for the CIA , among others . When they are supposed to protect the politician Vorodny, Hansen changes sides and shoots him. Out of friendship with Locken, he lets him live, but shoots his left elbow and left knee so that he is incapacitated and can no longer pursue him.

After a long hospital stay and arduous fitness training, Locken can take on a job again, even though he is now unable to walk. With the help of Jerome Miller and Mac, two old friends, he is supposed to protect the Japanese politician in exile Chung and his daughter. He meets Hansen again, who is now working for the other side and is supposed to kill the politician.

During the second attempt to murder Chung, Hansen is shot by Jerome Miller. Before his death, however, he can tell Locken that they both work for the same client. Then there is a showdown on a discarded US Navy warship . Locken, Mac and Chung survive.

Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times that the direction and the presentations would have a "special, nice style". The twists and turns of the plot, however, would detract from this one. Much of it was seen in the thriller The Three Days of the Condor, as well as in the other films about treason within the CIA . Only some scenes are interesting, some dialogues are good. Ebert also praised the locations in San Francisco and the representations.

The magazine TV direkt 7/2007 wrote that the film was particularly "tough".

background
