Keegan Allen

Keegan Phillip F. Allen (born July 22, 1989 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor . He gained increasing fame primarily through his role as Toby Cavanaugh in the US television series Pretty Little Liars , in which he was seen from 2010 until the series finale in 2017.

Life

Keegan Allen began his acting career in film and television as a teenager. In the short film Small Emergencies he appeared next to his mother Joan Douglas . After that he concentrated largely on his school education. At his high school he chose among other things video production and editing (film editing) as subjects . At the end of his high school years, the skateboard enthusiast Allen decided that he wanted to be in front of the camera in the future and not just behind it. In the following seven years he attended various acting courses and took lessons in several schools.

In 2010 he returned to the screen with an episode of the television series Big Time Rush and, after another role in the short film As a Last Resort , was included in the cast of the ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars . There he got the role of Toby Cavanaugh, which he played from 2010 to 2017. The role increased his national awareness and brought him, among other things, a guest appearance in the US hit series CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators .

For his engagement in Pretty Little Liars he was nominated for a Teen Choice Award in the category Choice Summer TV Star: Male in 2011, but could not prevail in this category against his series partner Ian Harding . But in 2013 he won this award himself. Together with Torrey DeVitto , Allen appeared at the NewNowNext Awards 2011 and also received an award for the successful series with her.
