Clarence Darnell Gilyard Jr. (born December 24, 1955 in Moses Lake , Washington ) is an American actor who is sometimes listed under the fictional name Clarence A. Gilyard .

life and career

One of Gilyard's first roles was on the NBC series CHiPs from 1982 to 1983 as Officer Benjamin Webster . In 1984 he was seen in the television series Trio with four fists as a singing burger William Collins in a guest appearance. He became known in his role as Conrad McMasters in the television series Matlock from 1989 to 1993 and as Texas Ranger James Trivette in Walker, Texas Ranger , which was produced from 1993 to 2001. In 2005 he starred in the television movie Walker, Texas Ranger: Baptism of Fire , which continued the series of the same name.

His best-known film role is that of Theo, a computer expert and terrorist, in the action film Die Hard (1988). Gilyard was also seen in the 1986 films Top Gun as a pilot "Sundown" and in Karate Kid II - Decision in Okinawa .

After Walker, Texas Ranger ended , Clarence played Pastor Bruce Barnes in Left Behind and Left Behind: Tribulation Force . After he couldn't be seen in any film between 2005 and 2012, Gilyard has appeared again in recent years, mainly with roles in smaller film productions.
