Walker, Texas Ranger baptism of fire (original title: Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire ) is an American television action - thriller from 2005 with Chuck Norris in the lead role of the Rangers Cordell Walker. It was directed by Chuck's younger brother, Aaron Norris . It is a sequel to the television series Walker, Texas Ranger .

The film deals with two different cases in which Captain Cordell Walker, a member of the Texas Ranger , an elite police force in the city of Dallas , is investigating. One is that a microchip is stolen from a secret government laboratory that accidentally gets into the hands of a 13-year-old boy. He is now being hunted by a North Korean crime syndicate. On the other hand, Cordell's partner Rhett Harper is involved in a double murder and gets caught between the fronts of the empire. Cordell has to focus on both cases. He feverishly tries to relieve his partner and actually finds evidence that suggests a plot. However, these are not recognized by the prosecution and are sharply criticized. Towards the end, Cordell manages to defeat the Koreans and get the microchip back. Together with the coroner Kay McCord, he then succeeds in uncovering the case around Rhett: It was Garret Evans who staged the double murder in order to get revenge on Rhett. He claims Rhett allegedly seduced his sister in college and drove her to suicide . When Rhett wants to leave the court as a free man, he is shot by a bank robber whose son he had previously shot while on duty. Alex Cahill, prosecutor, is also hit - it remains unclear what the consequences will be.

Walker, Texas Ranger: Baptism of Fire was created four years after the series finished and was produced by Paramount Network Television . Chuck and Aaron Norris and actor Leslie Greif took part in the production as executive producers. The film was broadcast on October 16, 2005 as Movie of the Week on CBS . The original plan was to make several films. But that didn't happen, and so Walker, Texas Ranger ended up with a cliffhanger .
In Germany, the film premiered on pay TV in 2007 and was broadcast on ProSieben on June 12, 2009 . A DVD was released on January 2, 2007.
