Fritz Bruder (born May 30, 1907 in Seligenstadt ; † May 16, 1975 ) was a Hessian politician ( CDU ) and a former member of the Hessian state parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1927, Fritz Bruder studied mathematics and natural sciences in Würzburg , Innsbruck and Gießen . As a student he became a member of the Catholic student associations of the KV , namely of K.St.V. Normannia Würzburg, KStV Rhenania Innsbruck, South Tyrol Innsbruck and Nassovia-Giessen. He completed his studies in 1934 with the state examination. Since he was considered "politically unreliable", he could not find a job in the school service and worked from 1934 to 1936 as a volunteer assessor and then until 1939 as a career advisor at the Hanover State Labor Office. In 1939 he was drafted into the service of a grammar school in the Sudetenland and drafted into the Wehrmacht from 1940 to 1945. After the war he became a teacher in his hometown in 1946.

politics

Fritz Bruder had been a member of the NSDAP since May 1, 1937 ( membership number 4,801,160).

After the war he joined the CDU and in 1949 became chairman of the CDU in Seligenstadt. He was district chairman of the CDU from 1954.

From 1952 to 1964 he served as the honorary first city councilor of Seligenstadt until he became mayor of Seligenstadt from 1964 to 1972. During his tenure, he implemented major projects for the development of Seligenstadt (old town renovation, construction of the swimming pool, the Konrad Adenauer school and the Niederfeld kindergarten, development of building land). The partnership between Seligenstadt and the French city of Tiel was particularly important to him.

From 1958 to 1972 Bruder was a member of the Offenbach district assembly , and from December 1, 1958 to November 30, 1966, he was also a member of the Hessian state parliament.

After leaving office as mayor, Bruder was made an honorary citizen of Seligenstadt.
