Janine Turner
Janine Turner (* 6. December 1962 in Lincoln , Nebraska as Janine Loraine Gauntt ) is an American actress .
She was in a relationship with Alec Baldwin and is the mother of one daughter.
Acting career
At the age of 15, she left home to join the Wilhelmina agency. She is best known in America for her role in General Hospital , in German-speaking countries as Mary-Margaret 'Maggie' O'Connell in Alaska, of all places .
After that, she had roles in various films such as Cliffhanger - Only the Strong Survive and Dr. T and the Women . From 2000 to 2002 she was in 50 episodes of the television series Strong Medicine: Two Doctors Like Fire and Ice , in 2005 she starred alongside Chuck Norris in the television film Walker, Texas Ranger: Baptism of Fire .
In 1983 she received a Young Artist Award for her role in General Hospital . In her subsequent career, she received three Golden Globe nominations and one for an Emmy .
Political commitment
Turner was on the council of the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation, founded by US President George W. Bush .
In 2008, Turner supported Sarah Palin's running for vice presidency .
Turner has hosted a weekly conservative talk radio show on KLIF-AM since May 2011 . In 2012 she was a speaker at the Republican National Convention .
Turner is a founding member and co-chair of the organization Constituting America , whose stated goal is to educate people about the United States' Constitution and of which their daughter Juliette is a member.
