Jediism

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Jediism is a syncretic belief that her her name and some terminology to the Order of Jedi from the science fiction film series Star Wars has inspired.

background

Jediism contains the spiritual contents of Christianity , Buddhism , Daoism and Shintoism . Jediisten assume that the "power" (English force ) in the Wars Star films best with the karmic mates steerable energy of its own, original faith.

In 2001 , Jediism was so common in referendums in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland that it was given its own numeric code (896) for entry on the form. In Australia , too, more than 70,000 people professed Jediism in a referendum that same year. However, after the survey, the Australian Bureau of Statistics made it clear that the answer to the religious question had no influence on possible recognition and threatened to impose a fine. The answer “Jedi” was therefore added to the “undefined” column.

In a 2011 census in the Czech Republic , 15,070 citizens stated Jediism as a religion.

The British Government's Welfare Commission decided that Jedi chivalry was not a religion. An application by the "Temple of the Jedi Order" for charitable status was rejected.

Today there are various Jedi orders, some of them in Germany. One of the most famous orders in German-speaking countries is the Order of Hope (short: OOH). Its members recognize Jediism as a philosophy.

Chris Brennan, the president of Star Walkin Inc., estimated the actual number of religious people to be 5,000. Another 50,000 votes come from fans, and the remaining 15,000 citizens have stated Jediism as their religion in protest to the state. These protest voters and "fun circles" also represent the real problem of acceptance by the Jediists.
