Milena "Mila" Kunis Markiwna ( English transcription Milena Markovna Kunis , Ukrainian Мілена Марківна Куніс , Russian Милена Марковна Кунис , * 14. August 1983 in Chernivtsi , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union , and today Ukraine ) is an American actress and voice actress . She was best known for her role as Jackie on the sitcom The Roaring Seventies .

life and career

Kunis was born as the daughter of the mechanical engineer Mark and the physics teacher Elvira Kunis in the Soviet Chernivtsi in today's Ukraine . She has an older brother who works as a biochemist . In 1991, at the age of seven, she emigrated with her family to Los Angeles , California , where she grew up.

In Los Angeles, she attended Hubert Howe Bancroft Middle School and took acting classes in the afternoons. So she got her first minor roles in children's programs and television commercials. In 1994 she played the role of Hope Williams, which she played in her childhood, in an episode of Zeit der Sehnsucht . At the age of 14, Kunis was cast for the television series The Wild Seventies , although she first gave false information about her age due to the required minimum age of 18 years. In parallel with her role on the sitcom, she attended Fairfax Senior High School in Los Angeles, where she graduated in 2001. Kunis often said that she didn't have much in common with Jackie, her role in this series, she was more of a "girl-next-door" guy with a slightly masculine touch. Regardless, she was photographed for the cover of the men's magazine Stuff .

Kunis had some other notable roles, including the lead role in Aerosmith - Music Video Jaded and in several films such as in Gia - Price of Beauty , where Angelina Jolie's role Gia plays teenage and in The Book of Eli alongside Denzel Washington . In 2011 she played the lead role of Jamie in the feature film Friends with Benefits , starring alongside Justin Timberlake in front of the camera. In 2012 she starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in the comedy Ted by the family guy inventor Seth MacFarlane in the lead female role of Lori Collins. In 2014, she became the new face of an ad campaign for Jim Beam . Other film roles followed, including in several comedies such as Bad Moms (2016), and in 2015 in the science fiction film Jupiter Ascending . Her work includes more than 60 productions. She also took part in various dramas, such as the Four Good Days (2020).

From 2002 to January 2011, Kunis was in a relationship with former child star Macaulay Culkin . Kunis has been dating her colleague Ashton Kutcher from The Wild Seventies since mid-2012 ; they married in July 2015. The couple has a daughter born in 2014 and a son born in 2016.

Kunis is of Jewish faith , but described herself on a US talk show as a “bad Jew” because she does not adhere to the customs too much. She has eyes of different colors ( iris heterochromia ), one is green, the other is brown. She also said she was blind in one eye for several years. Only through an operation could the vision in this eye be restored. She has had ADHD since childhood .
